This page explains what is stored on your device when you use scancodegenerator.com, and how to control it. It is written to be read rather than skimmed past, so it is short and specific.
The short version
At the time of the last update above, this site sets no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no tracking cookies. The only thing stored on your device is your own answer to the consent banner, so it does not have to ask again on every page.
That is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly rather than burying. Most sites listing a cookie policy are disclosing something. This one is mostly disclosing an absence.

That is the whole list. If it grows, this table is the first thing that gets updated, and the date at the top will move with it.
What this site deliberately does not use
- No advertising cookies. No ad network runs on this site at present.
- No analytics cookies. Page views are counted by Umami, which is cookieless. It sets nothing on your device, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not follow you to other sites.
- No affiliate tracking. There are no affiliate links carrying tracking parameters.
- No social or embed cookies. There are no embedded videos, maps, comment systems or social widgets, all of which typically set cookies of their own.
- No cross-site tracking of any kind.
Barcodes and QR codes you generate are encoded in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted anywhere, and no record of it is stored on your device or ours.
Why there is a banner at all
A fair question, given the table above has one row in it.
The banner is in place ahead of need. Advertising is likely to be added to this site at some point, and ad networks set cookies. Putting consent management in first means that when that happens, consent is already being collected, recorded and honoured, rather than being retrofitted after cookies have already started firing. Doing it in that order is the difference between compliance and cleanup.
It also means your choice is recorded from the start, rather than a change of monetisation quietly changing what happens on your device.
Changing your choice
Consent is managed through the Consently banner, which appears on first visit and can be reopened at any time from its preferences control. Your choice applies immediately, and you can change or withdraw it whenever you like without losing access to anything on this site. Every tool here works identically either way.
You can also clear site data through your browser settings, which removes the stored preference and makes the banner ask again.
Other things that load from elsewhere
Some files are served from other providers, which means your IP address reaches them as part of the ordinary request for that file. None of these set cookies on this site.

- cdnjs serves the open-source barcode encoding library.
- Consently serves the consent banner.
- Our own analytics server receives page view counts.
Changes to this policy
When something changes, the table above changes with it and the date at the top moves. If a cookie-setting service is added, this page and the consent banner will both reflect it before it goes live, not afterwards.
